Collaboration
When we revert to the metaphor of the iceberg, we saw the Designer4Billions standing at the edge of the water surface, looking downwards to discover innovation possibilities in emerging markets. The best advice to the Designer4Billions is to mutate in the decision making approach described as ’Doing First’. Doing first can be perceived in two ways: produce mock-ups and prototypes in all the stages of the product development process and talk with possible stakeholders all the time to open new roads to the consumer in emerging markets.
In popular terms, we can call this the key to success in Design4Billions.

The key to success

When you can talk about a ’key to success’ they are described in this section. The vision on Design by Steve Jobs precedes the vision on Design4Billions.
Some think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works. To design something really well, you have to get it. You have to really grok what it’s all about. It takes a passionate commitment to really thoroughly understand something, chew it up, not just quickly swallow it. Most people don’t take the time to do that.
Steve Jobs, 1996
The mission statement of Industrial Design Engineering in Delft is ’Creating products, which people love to use.’ In Design4Billions, the road to the consumer should be beloved as well. Design4Billions is not a one-man show. Convince stakeholders of your idea. Intensify the collaboration with stakeholders. This can unlock new roads to the consumer. Collaboration is the key to success in Design4Billions.
